Kallup McCoy II

Kallup is a coach and endurance athlete specializing in marathons and ultramarathons, based in Cherokee, NC

About Kallup

Kallup began running in 2017 after overcoming a 15-year addiction to meth and opiates. What started as a way to heal and rebuild his life has evolved into a relentless pursuit of endurance and purpose.

Since then, Kallup has completed four 50-mile ultramarathons, a 100-mile trail race, two 70.3 Ironman triathlons, and nine marathons — achieving a personal best of 2:36 in the marathon.

In 2018, he ran 800 miles along the Trail of Tears, honoring his Cherokee heritage and those who came before him.

Most recently, in 2025, Kallup ran across America. Covering 2,870 miles from San Diego, California to Wilmington, North Carolina in 66 days, averaging 44 miles per day. His journey represents redemption, resilience, and the belief that no matter where you come from, it’s never too late to chase something extraordinary.

“I started to seek something larger than myself.”
